Some folks have the unmitigated gall to suggest that I — or any of us — should show empathy for MAGA voters now that the monster they fed is devouring them too.
Nah. Hard pass.
You voted for a man who told you exactly who he was.
A man who told the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by.”
A man who incited an insurrection against this country.
A man who bragged about sexual assault.
A man who laughed while rolling back protections for LGBTQ+ folks, Black and Brown communities, immigrants, the disabled, pregnant people, and the working poor.
And you cheered.
You knew. You all knew.
You just didn’t think the fire would reach your doorstep.
But now that your small business is closing, or your farm’s being crushed under his tariff policies, or your kid can’t afford insulin because he gutted pharmacy protections — now you want sympathy?
Where was your empathy when my community was under attack?
Where was your voice when Trump called Rep. Jasmine Crockett “Low IQ” — just the latest in a long line of attacks on brilliant, powerful Black women?
Where was your outrage when Roe fell? When trans kids were targeted? When books were banned and history rewritten in red, white, and fear?
You laughed. You said “owning the libs” was worth it.
Well, congratulations. You owned us. But now the bill is due — and you’re discovering that fascism doesn’t have a loyalty program.
I am not heartless. But I have limits.
Empathy is not infinite when it’s been exploited, ignored, and mocked.
There’s a difference between compassion and complicity — and I refuse to be complicit in my own erasure, or in the suffering of people I love.
We begged y’all to take Project 2025 seriously.
We laid out the receipts.
You said it was “fake news.”
So no, I will not be lighting candles for folks who blew out everyone else’s flame and now find themselves in the dark.
You can ask Jesus for forgiveness.
You can ask your party for accountability.
But don’t come asking me for sympathy.
You owe those "sticking it to the Libs" and "fuck your feelings" losers NOTHING.
I welcome the Neanderthals to open a second front. They will never be considered my allies, however. I will never trust them because they lack empathy and are only motivated by selfishness.
