I agree totally! I see this question a lot coming from white women and even though i am a white woman, it infuriates me. White women let her down when millions didn't vote for her. I mourn the future we could've had if she'd won and it is not on her to save us now. Let her be!
I agree. She deserves the time to rest and contemplate her next chapter, which I hope will be a run for California Governor, and not a presidential run in 2028. This is a race she can win. California is the 5th largest economy in the world and a very blue state, which is leading the country in facing climate change and other liberal/left initiatives Our current governor, Gavin Newsom, has presidential ambitions, and has decided that cozying up to Trump and embracing some of Trump's positions is the best way to advance those ambitions. (I disagree.) Our large and influential state needs Kamala Harris as our next governor.
I haven’t called for or called on Kamala Harris to step up, so I’m probably not the people you’re referring to. I voted for Kamala Harris with my whole heart and I welcomed Joe Biden’s exit, though it could have come much earlier. That said, I wish new leaders would emerge, because the opposition to trump’s coup is rudderless and because Democratic Party leadership is feckless and bought. Who, then, if not Kamala Harris? The only people who have my confidence to lead us out of this are Kamala Harris, AOC, and Pete Buttigieg. I can’t think of anyone else who is trustworthy or potentially popular enough to throw their hat into the ring. I think your outrage, though righteous, is poorly timed.
My outrage is not poorly timed. I have seen countless think pieces (specifically from white women) calling for Kamala to save the day. Saying that she is cowardice and that she needs to do something. There’s a lot of anger simmering in the black community due to the racist/sexist/misogyny mistreatment of Kamala Harris that few are addressing and it’s a bout to boil over! It’s unfair to ask her, less than two months after the inauguration, to shield us from Donald Trump. No one asked Hillary Clinton to do it after Trump won in 2016. She was allowed to recuperate and heal. Kamala Harris deserves the same grace that was afforded to Hillary Clinton.
Truly an excellent article. I’m 100 percent with you, Kamala Harris deserves to rest!
Thank you!
Kamala does not owe anyone anything!

Aside from the troll under the bridge the comments have merit and this is an excellent article
Well stated and so true
