After the Senate Vote: A Message of Light in the Darkness

Jenifer Lewis with a powerful message

Today, millions of us are feeling broken. Frightened. Betrayed. The Senate vote on Trump’s horrific bill has left people in despair—worried for their children, their parents, their healthcare, their food, their lives.

But then, like a healing breeze through the smoke came the incomparable Jenifer Lewis.

She sat at her piano and began to sing:

🎶 “I came by to lift you up today, to tell you we’re all gonna be OK… because LOVE will always win.”

And then:

🎶 “Let’s be clear. Don’t live in FEAR.”

That’s the message we need right now.

We are not powerless. We are not alone. This is not over.

And love—fierce, unapologetic, unbreakable love—will always be stronger than their cruelty.

So take a moment. Breathe. Cry. Get angry if you need to. But then lift your head, hold someone’s hand, and remember: We fight because we love.

And love is why we will win.
